Can't we just make this?

Isn't it great that kids have such confidence in their parents? Hailey knows that Matt can fix anything and she is pretty sure that she and I can make anything she wants.

Hailey just came in, after looking for markers in my sewing room, with a pattern for a little summer dress....

Hailey: Hey Mom, what's this for?
Me: It's a pattern for a dress.
Hailey: Oh, do you want to make it today?
Me: I don't think we have any fabric.
Hailey: Yes we do, there's some in the pattern. Oh, I guess it's just a pattern. Oh, what's this....what's that.
Me: I don't think we can make it today.
Hailey: Well, what color should we make it? I saw that you have some fabric in there.
Me: We are not making it today.
Hailey: All you have to do is sew it. I'll just go get the fabric. (then she came in with a bag full of ribbon, I don't think that's going to work)
Me: That's ribbon Hailey
Hailey: Yeah, it's just for the arms mom. I'll go get the fabric.

We may just have to make a dress today. Last time this happened I was in the middle of a project when Hailey decided she really wanted a new apron. She picked out all the fabric and ribbon. She was so excited, so we made an apron. I really don't think I have the right fabric though.

Anyway, I thought someone else might enjoy our little conversation.
