Sailing

Now that we live 5 minutes away from the water Matt has missed having a boat, so for his Birthday and Father's Day he found a fun little sailboat (it's as old as we are.)  And the girls are thrilled, they wanted to ride home behind the truck in the boat.

Hailey is learning how to set everything up.  she is a great helper these days and loves to learn new things like her Dad.

Matt said that it was so fun to have Aida on the boat every time he said something she would say "eye eye captain."  She is such a fun kid to have around, nothing beats her sweet mischievous smile.

Everyone had so much fun every time the girls got off they said how much fun it was and that they were ready to get back on.  I think they would go everyday if they could, it's close enough that I'm sure we will go a lot.

Sophie was a little sick and spent most of the time asleep in her the shade of her carseat.

Sophie is sitting in Hailey's camp chair.  I love the look on her face when she finds something she is interested in.

The Heber Creeper

Everyone was excited to be on a very old very slow moving train.

Grammy and Opi came with, somehow  I didn't get a picture of Opi.

Hailey's friend Lydia was on the train too, so she got to ride with us part of the time.

This is a great picture of Sophie's crazy hair.  I keep thinking it will start laying down now that it is quite long, but it insists on standing straight up.

Field trip to the park

The last week of school we got to go on a walking fieldtrip to the park with Hailey's class.

Hailey being goofy with her friends Amberly and Mia.

Aida loved being there with all the big kids, they were very nice and let her play with them.

Hailey's teacher is due to have twins in August and I was pushing a stroller so the kids got to pull the coolers with lunch.  Hailey pulled that awkward heavy thing the whole way there and back.

Craft Project

We were on the paint isle at the store the other day and Aida started collecting paint samples as usual.  She had an array of colors and insisted that she needed all of them.  When we got home she told me she need tape and some ribbon so she could make the paint samples pretty.  She immediately went to work.  She poked out the hole at the top and had me tie a bow through it.  Then she put a piece of clear tape over the bottom, she was pretty proud of herself.  after dinner she announced to everyone that she had a craft for us to do (I'm not kidding, she did it all on her own) she got everything out and started explaining in detail how to do it.  She kept pointing to her example saying look at mine, this is how you do it.  She and Hailey were having so much fun, then they realized that the tape on the paint made it so they could use dry erase markers to write on it.  That is what the did the rest of the night.  Sweet 4 year old Aida came up with a craft all on her own and turned it into something that was completely useful for her and her sister.  What a fun day!

Sweet Sophie

Sophie has found her voice!  She is making a lot of noise and the girls are loving it.  Hailey told me the other day that she loves it when Sophie "talks" even though it sounds a little like she is going to cry.

Bike Ride for Mia

A while ago I wrote about Aida's sweet friend Mia who went to Heaven in October.  On memorial day her family did a memorial bike ride and breakfast in her honor.  My girls were thrilled to participate, we talk about her often.  Aida misses, the other day she told me that when Jesus comes again and Mia is resurrected  Mia will want to play with Aida, but Jesus will need her to help him.  She knows she is teaching and helping people in Heaven right now.

Ready for the ride, we had fun making purple balloon flowers with Mia's name on them.

At the end they did a balloon launch, everyone wrote messages to Mia on their balloons.

That's  Mia's mom Mimi and her sister Ellie in the background.

Ready to launch.
