Daddysitting

Sophie and Daddy taking a short nap together.  Sophie is enjoying not being swaddled while she sleeps.

Aida's Big Bike

We have not had a lot of days where the weather was nice enough for bike riding, but anytime it is almost warm Aida runs for her bike.  She is getting good, she even rode the whole way to The Store for an ice cream cone and back.

Family Game Night

Hailey came home from school with tickets to the U of U Baseball game, she of course thought Matt would love to go.  It ended up being a rainy cold day so instead we had a game night of our own.  We played a fun game where you try to pin as many clothes pins on you as you can, but you only have until the next person rolls doubles to do it.  We all had a lot of fun!
Aida loved clipping them in her hair because that's what Dad did.

Fancy

Aida Loves fancy things!  There can never be too many sprinkles on a cookie (not that she actually eats the sprinkles, but it should look as fancy as possible.)  And...there cannot be too many fancy stickers on your multicolor ombre fingernails.  And...if your fingernails are painted fancy your toe nails should be too.

Spring is coming, the yard work begins

Last week Matt said he was going to move a tree so that his Trailer could fit next to the house.   We talked about where it could maybe go.  I came out maybe half an hour later and he had the tree dug up and was testing it out in it's new spot.  I came back from my jog half an hour later and he had the tree planted!  He is FAST!

Sophie 4-8-13

Sophie is such a happy baby and we are just waiting for her to Laugh.  She smiles like crazy, but has yet to laugh.  Hailey and Aida try, but have not yet succeeded in making her laugh.  Her smiles are almost as good as laughs though.

Color Coordinating to the Extreme

I went downstairs the other day and found the table in the playroom setup for a color coordinated party.  When I asked Hailey about it she said that unfortunately there were not any orange plates for the orange food and there wasn't any blue food so it wasn't quite perfect.

Hailey has been doing this kind of thing since she was tiny.  I remember walking into her room and finding her books lined up by size.  One time she had all her shoes lined up by pairs in a color coordinated semicircle.

I wish she would have smiled like this when we had pictures taken recently.  All that talk about color coordination and then look what she is wearing...crazy girl!

Blessing Day, Easter Sunday

Just for comparison I took this picture of Sophie in her blessing dress on the day we had originally wanted to bless her , she was one month old.

Here she is on Blessing day 3 Months old and much bigger.  I was a little worried she wouldn't grow into the dress in time, then I was worried she would grow out of it.  But it tuns out that it fit perfectly.

Thanks to Lani these are the notes from Sophie's blessing:
"Heavenly Father by the authority of the Melchizedek priesthood that  we hold we give this child a name, Sophie Ella Hurst.  We bless you to be strong.  We bless you to come to know the principals of the gospel.  Share this happiness with those around you, connect with the people around you.  Be a Missionary with the sweet spirit around you.
Blessings throughout your life"

Lani made her the sweet pink pearl bracelette

After everyone left Sophie had some time in the swing before heading off to St. George for a few days.

Easter Saturday

The beginning of the Easter Scavenger Hunt,  can you tell that Hailey is so thrilled to be holding Sophie standing up?

The baskets were in the play room on top of new camp chairs.  The Easter Bunny must have known that we plan on doing a lot of camping this summer.

3-18-13

I found the best way to wake Hailey up for school.....Sophie!  Who could be grouchy when they wake up with this sweet face next to them?  Not Hailey, she wakes up for school much easier if Sophie happens to be laying in bed next to her.

Sisters

Sisters are a wonderful thing that I never got to experience.    I love watching these three love each other!  Hailey and Aida can't get enough of Sophie (often a little on the in your face side, but Sophie doesn't seem to mind too much.)  I love it that they have built in friends, they have such great imaginations and play sweetly together (most of the time).

Bath time

Sophie is so lucky to have Sister's like these two who absolutely adore her!  They love helping with bath time, their favorite part is rubbing the soap on her tummy or legs, they's really like to do her hair (I'm a little over protective still.)  They are great helpers, both really great at babysitting while I get something done.

Midway's got Talent

Hailey came home from school the other day so excited because they were having a school talent show and she wanted to be in it.  I love it that she is so brave and wants to do things like that.  When I asked her what she would do for the talent show she had thought of 3 options:

1.  Do a couple of Ballet moves (she did take ballet for a few months a couple of years ago...)
2.  Kick a soccer ball around the stage (she played on a team for one season last spring...)
3.  Play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano (she took piano lessons for a few months a year ago...)

We decided that playing the piano was probably her best option.  So, she practiced, a little, and she was good to go.  She was a little nervous, but she kept going and did a great job!  We are so proud of her, this is the first time she's ever done something like that in front of a large group, she's starting early.
I'm sorry I can't get the video to turn the other way, you'll just have to turn your head.

2 Month Dr. Appointment 3-7-13

Sophie is growing like crazy and by her two month appointment has caught up to where she should be.  she is 10 lbs. 4 oz. and 22.6" long.  Still in the lower percentile, but on the charts.

Aida can't get enough of her little sister!

First time in a tent 3-6-13

Aida is so ready for Sophie to be big enough to play with her.  I frequently find toys in her crib because Aida wanted Sophie to be able to play.  Today Aida was playing in her fun Teepee from Grandma Jeri and she wanted Sophie to join her.  Sophie LOVED it.  As you can tell from the pictures the tent is pink and because of the light coming in through Aida's window it made everything in the tent a little pink.  They had a good time!
