Unfortunately my camera batteries are dead and I never remember to buy new ones so...no pictures today but I thought I would share this story anyway.

Hailey has been planting seeds with Matt, she even planted some at school and they have all been growing. So she's learned a few things about how to grow something. Basically you need dirt, water and sunshine and you can grow almost anything. Last week Hailey was watering her seeds and she kept coming inside for more water I thought for sure she had drowned the seeds with all the water so I went out to see what she was up to. The seeds looked fine...so where was all the water going? Hailey came out with another cup of water and walked right over to her cute pink trike and dumped the cup of water in the trunk. I thought she was just messing around, when I asked her what she was doing she said that she was growing her bike. It's getting a bit small for her and she thought if she took care of it just like the seeds it would grow. I told her that maybe she could just ask for one for her birthday and she promptly said "I don't need to, I'm growing one." The next couple of days it rained quite a bit, Hailey thought for sure that would help her bike, but when she went out to check on it she was quite disappointed to find that it looked exactly the same as when she started. She was a bit frustrated that the bike didn't grow like the seeds did, now she'll have to ask for one for her birthday.

She's such a fun little girl, it's great to see that she is learning and thinking for herself.

Do they look alike?

People ask me all the time if Aida looks like Hailey did at her age. I didn't used to think they looked all that much alike, there are definate differences, but sometimes I'm glad I have my camera set to put the date on the pictures. Here are a few photos where they are pretty close to the same age and you can decide.

Babies in small places

I don't know what it is about small enclosed spaces, but little kids seem to love them. Aida has recently realized how fun it can be to climb into those small places. She frequently goes under the highchair and gets stuck, the new favorite spot is the table. You would think that should be pretty easy to get under and out from under, but aparantly if you are exactly the height of the table it's a little more complicated. As soon as she gets under the table she stands up, but then she can't figure out how to get out, she's trapped until someone rescues her. I'm sure soon enough she'll figure out that it's actually pretty easy to get out if you bend a little or crawl, but once that happens it probably won't be nearly as fun.

EASTER

For some reason I couldn't get these pictures to fit with the other ones so here they are.

EASTER

We started the morning with an Easter egg hunt, that sneaky Easter Bunny hid all the eggs we died last week (well, the ones we hadn't already eaten) around the house...we thought he would hide them outside, but there was snow on the ground! The girls were both good at finding the eggs, it's so fun to watch them get excited they both do the exact same I'm so excited I could explode squeezing the hands thing (it must run in the family). fortunately Aida only cracked 2 eggs with that move. We had a great morning, the snow melted and it turned into a beautiful day.

Easter Eggs

Lani joined us for family night this week and we dyed Easter Eggs. It was a lot of fun....we dyed 3 dozen eggs which sounds like a lot, but it went quickly. Aida really wanted to hold the eggs, but knowing that she has an incredibly tight grip we tried to keep them mostly away from her. Hailey loved dying they eggs, she didn't care for using spoons to drop them in the dye though. I wish I had a picture of her hands when she was done, they were tie died all the bright fun colors. Since we did so many eggs we've started eating them...turns out Hailey loves hard boiled eggs (she is sooo her father's daughter) every time she chooses an egg she remembers who dyed it, she's got a great memory.
