Guess who's a SUPERSTAR
Hailey has been working very hard on mastering all the letters and their sounds. She is quite determined. She's known most of them for a while, but when they tested her at school on Tuesday she came home with a note asking us to work on M and N (she confused the two). She's so funny when she gave me the note she very seriously said..."Miss Leslie said I can't be an Alphabet Superstar yet. But, Mom, I know all my letters." I told her we just needed to work on not confusing those two, which is easy to do. She sat on the computer for an hour after that practicing her letters. By Thursday she had them down. They tested her again and she did great! She is very excited about the whole thing....she got to stand in front of her class While Miss Leslie told them that she was an Alphabet superstar. She also got to choose those groovy glasses which she loves to wear and an alphabet ruler. We are so proud of her. She's learning so quickly. We are making flash cards to help her start putting sounds together this morning, we'll see how that goes.

Hailey's First Talk
Hailey gave her first talk in primary on Sunday, it was on Prophets. She did a great job! We found out about the talk Saturday night which didn't leave much time for memorizing. So Sunday morning Hailey helped me write the talk. We practiced and practiced and practiced, she didn't quite get it memorized, but she did know it well enough that I didn't have to whisper every word. During part of the talk she shined a flashlight on a picture of Christ (which is why she is holding them in the pictures) that was her favorite part and she did it right on que. I was very proud of her, she didn't even seem nervous.

Today we met Lani at the Bead Fairy on her lunch to make Aida a new bracelet. She's worn the one Lani gave her at the hospital for a year and as much as we love it it was time for something new. It turned out great and Aida is quite impressed by how shiny it is!
The rest of the pictures are of Aida's new trick. For the longest time she has been intrigued by the stairs, but never dared try to go down them. She's finally worked up the courage to try, but unfortunately won't do it the safe way. When she gets close to the stairs she scoots her left leg in front of her then wiggles her way to the stairs working the leg down over the edge. The next trick is getting her other leg around front and over the stair. She's pretty proud of herself! Unfortunately when she tries to go down this way it doesn't quite work out like she's planned. Dangerous as it may be this is one of her favorite things to do.

Aida had her first driving lesson this week. She absolutely loved it. She's finally big enough to do some kind of big kid stuff, and it's almost warm enough to play outside. The girls had so much fun playing outside that now Hailey thinks she should be able to be outside whenever she wants. Unfortunately it's not quite spring yet...it's raining right now. We are looking forward to warmer weather!
