Matt's Mom makes a quilt for all the grandkids when they are born. This quilt is the one she made for Aida. As you can see it was quite intense and took way more time than anticipated. I think it was completely worth the wait! It turned out increadible, it's absolutely perfect in their room (colors which are quite difficult to match). She did a wonderful job! Thanks Grandma Jeri!

Pretty much everyone is wearing these fun head wraps. My great aunts started making them, they made it look so fun I was wishing I knew how to do it. Then I realized that I do know how to knit, I learned on my mission and haven't done it since, but I was hoping it's sort of like riding a bike and guess what it is. My great Aunt Jeri was nice enough to sit with me and help me remember, it came back quicker than I thought it would. And Gram helped me remember how to crochet (I don't think I've done that since I was 7) Anyway, I made this one for my niece's birthday and Hailey was nice enough to model it for me. (I think she thinks it's for her) It was a fun project, I'm sure I'll be making a few more for my girls.

One project leads to another

It all started with the bathroom. Last year for my birthday I asked Matt if he could re-do the bathroom. I was thinking a new cabinet and countertop....new paint.....and maybe a new shower curtain. Matt on the other hand is a big thinker and is blessed with the talent to make things happen, so, instead of just a face lift the bathroom had a major over-hall. We decided to make the bathroom bigger which entailed taking some space out of the hall and putting the girls closet in the bathroom. It worked out great! I absolutely love love love our new bathroom. The vanity fit perfectly in the closet and now we have enough room for the whole family. (which is important when you only have one bathroom) I'm so glad I listened to Matt and decided to go for it. But as we all know one thing leads to another and because we changed where the bathroom door was we also had to fix the hall. That's done and I love that too, Matt textured it and we painted it yellow. But that wasn't the end of construction...we had to cover the big hole in the girls room from the old closet and find a way to put a new closet in. Well...it's been a few months, but all that finally looks good again. I love the girls room, I was finally able to actually hang things where I wanted instead of wherever there was a hole (the walls are plaster which means a small hole turns into a big hole quickly.) Anyway everything looks great! Matt is a wonderful hard worker and is starting on the playroom downstairs for the girls.
(sorry some of the pictures are sideways...I don't have what it takes to do it all over, so you may have to turn your heads.)
